After the Rose of Vinodol it is time for another happening in Novi Vinodolski. Celebration of the 130 years old tradition of tourism in Novi Vinodolski starts this Friday, and to all of you who are interested in spending an interesting vacation with lots of music and fun in the sun, we give you the program of this weekend’s events.

-Grand party with fireworks (it is never boring in Novi Vinodolski, so we have two parties instead of one!), August 23d 2008, 8PM
-Fishing contest for the tourists, August 24th 2008, 6:30AM (it is early, but we must not let the fish get away!)
-130 gastronomic pleasures to celebrate our jubilee, August 24th 2008, 11:00AM

Monday, August 18th, 2008There is a story in the area of Vinodol and the town of Novi Vinodolski, a story told in many tales about a centuries old custom, a custom that started in the days when the famous Frankopans ruled the town. According to that story, after every season of picking grapes the people of the town would choose the prettiest and the most hard working grape picker among all the girls. After that the girl was taken to the town followed by a big parade. The modern festival Rose of Vinodol started in 2004 and it lasts for three days. During that period there are many competitions, cultural events and, of course, the competition for the Rose of Vinodol. There is no need to say that many barrels of wine are consumed during the festival. This year was maybe the best so far! Check out the video!
Novi Vinodolski International Summer Carnival
Sunday, July 6th, 2008Novi Vinodolski International Summer Carnival is held every year in the Croatian town of Novi Vinodolski. The tradition of carnivals in the Croatian Kvarner region dates back a few centuries and there are many well known organized groups which attend carnivals throughout the entire year. The carnival in Novi Vinodolski attracts many Croatian and foreign guests and is an important part of the Novi tourist offer. The carnival parade sets off from the town bus station and it ends at the main square where it is applauded by a mass of spectators. After the parade is over there are many parties held in the town’s clubs and bars, and a good time is guaranteed till small hours.
